'Harry Potter' finishes filming

The last scenes of the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, have been shot. Warwick Davis, who plays Professor Flitwick and the goblin Griphook, wrote on his Twitter feed.

“The end of an era - today is officially the last day of principal photography on Harry Potter - ever. I feel honoured to be here as the director shouts cut for the very last time. Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it's been magic! x ...and goodbye Griphook!”

The Harry Potter films, which began with 2001's Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, are the highest grossing film series of all time, making an average of £600 million per film.

James Phelps, who plays the mischievous Fred Weasley, paused for a while before deciding on the Gryffindor displays near the beginning of the exhibit, “mainly because it has the Marauder’s Map, which was a big part of Fred and George’s influence in the movie when they gave it to Harry.” Then he mentions the tiny four-poster beds used by Harry Potter and best friend Ron Weasley in the first few films. “See how small Ron and Harry were,” he comments. “They couldn’t get in them now.”
